Things that make you go Ooh!
Every now and then, you see something that makes you go Ooh! (Think the aliens in the grab machine in Toy Story)
Two things have made me go Ooh today (well three actually but i'm not going to tell you #3 yet)
#1 is The Microsoft Security Risk Self-Assessment Tool or MSRSAT.
MSRSAT is designed to help organizations with fewer than 1,000 employees assess weaknesses in their current IT security environment. It will help identify processes, resources, and technologies that are designed to promote good security planning and risk mitigation practices within your organization.
It's an excellent first step for anyone needing to do a risk assessment in their environment and its free too!

#2 is Orb
Like many good things, I found it via Mr Harrison
Orb gives you secure access to the digital media on your home PC through a simple web interface. Orb streams your content safely to virtually any internet-connected device (including PDAs and Phones). Just install the Orb software on your PC, then access your media anywhere.

I'll try it out and let you know how I get on
UPDATE: Orb is quite possibly the coolest thing i've seen in... well at least a few days anyway.
After install, it tries to start a TV guide which seems to be US only (to be fair, the website says that TV is US only at the moment) and appears to hang at this point.
Fire up your favourite task manager and look for a process called something like ORBTVXML and kill it. Orb then works without issue. I have successfully viewed my photos on my phone but cant get a decent signal in my house to try AV streaming.
#3 is... whoops
Not until next week :)
