This is weird and unless you use WordPerfect 11 your going to think I'm overlooking a permissions setting but I assure you I am not.  WordPerfect 11 has a problem that makes it so newly created documents do not inherit permissions from their parent folder.  Instead the creator of the file and the local “Users” group is given appropriate permissions. 

After scouring the 'net for a few hours in search of a solution I decided to give in and call Corel.   Turns out they know about the issue and are working to get a service pack released to fix the issue.  When I asked if I could get on a list to be sent notification of the new service pack I was told to watch the website.  Thanks for the help guys!  I guess I will now be spending my life watching the Corel website for updates.  I really don't understand how an issue of this caliber could have been missed. . .
