Seguridad en Computo - Diez Anos de la Seguridad en Mexico
/*Begin Chris Farley impersonation*/ For those of you who don't habla espanol “Seguridad en Computo” is Spanish for Computer Security!/*End Chris Farley impersonation*/ Seriously though, I learned about this event through a post on NTBUGTRAQ (if your not subscribing...WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?!). The Internet is a Global Community, in order for us to secure the Internet we need to worry about the state of computer security all over the world. Yes, ALL over the world. What is great about this event is that its going to address everything from NIDS to the effects of Windows XP SP2 on a secure network environment. It is my firm belief that people overlook the need to harden workstation OS's and I'm hoping that this event and others like it will address that topic....kudos to Microsoft for making ICF (supposedly) rock in SP2. From the website:
The Congress Computer Security is the principal event of Computer Security in Latin America organized by the Computer Security Department and the UNAM-CERT located in the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), with the basic objective to stimulate the culture of Computer Security, as well as also to provide the knowledges and necessary tools for keep protected the information.
The Congress Computer Security actuates as a point of meeting of the computer community interested in the security area, due to the fact that it unite to personalities throughout the world recognized that they have realized big contributions to the knowledge of this area and that they use this great forum as platform of throwing of his more recent investigations.
