I did a 4 mile fun run this afternoon in took me about 40 minutes.
1 June 2004
I had a pretty good swim workout this morning
- Warmup: 200 free; stroke count average = 22/length
- 500 free ~ 10:30
- 2:30 rest
- 500 free ~ 10:40
- 2:30 rest
- 500 free ~ 10:30
- 2:30 rest
- 100 free/breast cooldown
TOTAL: 1800 yds.
Ran home from work again 4 miles in about 31 Minutes. It should have taken me 36. I am now training for the Chicago Marathon and need to start making my running not as intense so I can get in more mileage.

I ran to work this morning but I ran North to the totem at Waveland Ave. before heading South so I ran a total of 6 miles in 66 minutes which puts me at an even 11 minutes per mile. A little slower than I would have liked but I guess it should be expected since I really haven't run more than once or twice a week in months.

I went biking with Pete so while it was with a friend it was still a good workout :)...although, we almost got attacked by a LARP wizard. However, Lord Zool protected us. We biked from Diversey North to the turn around then back South to the sledding hill just past the museum and back to Diversey. I have no idea how many miles we covered or how long it took us. If I were to make an educated guess based on CARA's map of the running path I'd say we biked about 20 miles. I really need to get back in biking shape before the August sneaks up on me! I'm taking tommorow off since I've increased my training so much this week...its amazing what scheduling and actually waking up in the morning can do for training! Sunday (the 6th) I am going to swim a leisurely mile...probably about 35 - 40 minutes and run 10 miles at a very slow pace I expected it to take ~ 110 minutes...I'll swim in the morning and run later on at night so I'm not in the sun so much and I can get in my runner's knee exercises before hand that way.

I swam today and holy shit!!! I have gotten a lot stronger. I decided that I hadn't timed myself swimming a mile in a long time so I was going to see if I could finally beat 39 minutes. I SWAM A MILE IN 35:35!!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't had a smile this big on my face in a long time! Its great to know that all this training is actually paying off.
