The bottom line part deux.
This is a follow up to the post I recently made in response to Scott Granneman's
article on
SecurityFocus.
You can read my original post and his responsehere. I feel the need to clarify what I meant in the post. I could make this much longer but I'll stay off the soapbox for today..
- Microsoft should not have to support software which is obtained through illegal means. Does the warranty on a stolen car transfer to it's new "owner"?
- A lot of the ports which these worms are propogating through really have no use on the global Internet. ISP's act as the gatekeepers to the internet; so why don't we just put more pressure on them?
- Scott Granneman is definitely *not* a lunatic; however, the idea that Microsoft should support thieves is. I actually look forward to reading his articles :-D
I've been meaning to follow up on this for a LONG time not now but triathloning, climbing and work have all been busy lately.
