When I bought my 12" iBook I was rather pissed off that I could not use the extended desktop functionality of the ATI Radeon chipset to extend my desktop onto another monitor. Well, thankfully someone has made a script to edit the firmware and let me do that

....I have yet to test this and will do so as soon as I get a chance since I am still under warranty and can afford to lose everything on the drive at this point :)

I promise to follow up with another post detailing if it worked or not.
