PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE POST BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO APPLY THIS PATCH

Well, I did it and it works beautifully!!! However, I was given the option to enable Clamshell mode which essentially means that I can close the lid on the laptop and it won't go to sleep so I use usb peripherals and my monitor to pretend I have a desktop. I did NOT enable Clamshell mode and I would suggest you do the same. The author of the patch himself warns in the readme that this can cause problems with heat dissipation. If you're curious as to what heat problems will do to a laptop drop Ryan or myself an e-mail and ask about our Dell Inspiron 8xxx series laptops...and you thought hitting your laptop would only make it worse ;)
