I still need to read the entire WS-Eventing spec, but so far I like what I'm reading. The draft is authored by BEA Systems Inc., Computer Associates International Inc., International Business Machines Corporation, Microsoft Corporation, Inc, Sun Microsystems, Inc, and TIBCO Software Inc.

WS-Eventing defines an extensible way for Web Services to subscribe to Events in other services and be notified when they occur.  I'm excited about this.  I've got a current project that could benefit from this and be a lot more elegant in the process.
