I have been oblivious to the coming release of the next version of the Application Blocks. Now called Enterprise Library. Someone mentioned it to me the other day and after doing some looking I can’t wait for the release.

Now that there are a good number of blocks out, it looks like the group has rebuilt them with integration in mind. They are all more consistent with each other, have extensibility points to plug in your own code and more.

I’m excited… Besides the great start the blocks give for new apps, anything with "plug-in extensibility" I can play with makes me giggle with joy.

Scott Densmore says they should be available for download from MSDN on January 28th.
