'Twas the day before Christmas
I hope that Ryan will forgive me for yet another off-topic post (my New Year's resolution is going to have to be to make sufficient progress with WhaTBI? that I've got something .NET-related to blog about - however, I've got Civilisation III: Conquests for Christmas, so I'm not entirely convinced...)
I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish everyone out there in the blogosphere a Merry Christamas and a Happy New Year, as I'm going to be "unplugged" for a while.
Christmas Day is going to be especially poignant for my wife and I this year, as it will be 18 months to the day since our daughter had her most recent operation. The most scary part of this is that as she was only 2 in October, she packed two open heart surgeries and an MRI scan into a mere 8 months. There's still one more operation to go, sometime in the next three years, but she's certainly doing well so far. I could gush on and on at this point, but instead I'll link to an article written by Ulrika Jonsson, whose daughter Bo has the same condition as Sophie, and who expresses particularly well many of the feelings my wife and I have had.
Merry Christmas, one and all.
