Have tried TextAloud and am pretty impressed. The "free" voice is a bit mechanical, but I was listening to a few techie articles fine, right up until the battery in Muvo ran out :(

The only problem was that the articles seemed to be about "C-number" and "point-NET", but I'm sure this is the way to go. C# and .NET are just so last week...

Have thought of a couple of possibilities:

  • converting the transcripts of MSDN TV shows (though, MS could do us a favour and make the audio available as well as the various video options)
  • combining it with the Lorem Ipsum generator  to give spoken gibberish (as Ryan described it - obviously no classical education there ;)

Anyone else got any better ideas?
