Several people have reported Don Box's recent comments on MS's lack of future investment in COM (sorry, no link, but I know that OLE32.DLL was mentioned by name...).

However, when Raymond Chen blogs about The layout of a COM object you just know that somewhere there's a large female operatic type waiting in the wings, warming up her vocal chords ready for a song :)
