A couple of useful tools: Synergy and Namexif
Whilst I'm on a bit of a roll 'blogging-wise (I might even make double figures again this month!) I thought I'd mention a couple of tools that I've found particularly useful this month (though I've tagged many more in del.icio.us):
- Synergy for using a single mouse and keyboard to control multiple machines (mouse scrolls between the displays, with keyboard following it). I've not yet checked it out, but I also noticed something called Remoted in the GDN VC++ Powertoys which purports to do the same sort of thing (but without the platform independence, I guess) for those who'd prefer something from MS, even if it is unsupported
- Namexif, a simple but incredibly useful tool which renames JPEGs according the the dates stored in their EXIF data
Hopefully my next post will be technical (won't that be a change!) as I've now got a couple of ideas brewing...
